A SIMPLE THANK YOU...........
Today's card is a thank you card that I should have made and sent at Christmas. My ducks just will not get in a row. What to do? What to do? I had help with this one by using Cindy and Debbie's February sketch and color challenge. Check them out here on Cindy's blog. The colors are River Rock, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Night of Navy. Now just to let you know, River Rock is not a favorite of mine. But I think it worked great with this color combo. I used it as my base and added the oval layers of Rose Red and Night of Navy. I stamped the image from Just Believe in Night of Navy onto a Very Vanilla oval. I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit to cut out my Pretty in Pink butterfly. I sponged Night of Navy around the outside of the oval and the butterfly. So that covered all of the colors in the challenge. As for the sketch, I flipped it upside down. The sentiment is also from Just Believe and is stamped on a strip of Pretty in Pink. The ends are punched with the Eyelet Border punch to pretty it up a little. Since this is being mailed, I kept it very simple.

PAINTBALL FUN..........
The card for today is one I did for my brother-in-law's birthday. You know, if I had it all together (which I can only wish for), I would have these entries ready to post on the person's birthday. Okay, that can be something I can work on. But, back to the card. I used a color combo from the new color coach - Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry. I have a hard time with "manly" cards. I actually started this with the ribbon. Normally, you try to keep the adornments to a minimum and most ribbons look way too girlie. But I think this retired Pacific Point ribbon has a masculine feel to it. Then I added a little hardware from the Silver Hodgepodge Hardware. The "HB" stamp is from the retired It's Your Birthday set. The splotches are what I hope look like paintball splatters --- a favored past-time of my B-I-L --- and were made with my Color Spritzer Tool and SU! markers.
This would not be an easy mailer, due to the hardware. I do like how it turned out and I do like the color combo. This color coach is great!!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!!
