THE NEW & IMPROVED ZOEY......

As a mom, I have gotten used to saying "This is for your own good". Well, somewhat used to it. But what did I go & do? I agreed to get a puppy. Now I have another "kid" that I have to do what is best for them. So on Friday morning, Jimmy & I took Zoey to the vet to have her spayed. I know this is the right thing to do. I know millions have done it before & millions more will do it in the future. But still, it was our baby this time. Memories of dropping Lindsey & Logan at preschool came flooding back. The only difference was I knew I would pick them up at the end of the day, where Zoey would be staying overnight. Plus, they were not going to be cut on.

We dropped her at 8AM. As soon as we got out of the car, she started shaking --- kids never forget the doctor's office, do they? We go in, fill out the papers, give them her crate and give her a hug. There she is, looking up at us with those big puppy dog eyes (literally!) and shaking like a leaf. My heart just broke. The surgery would be between 12 and 3 and we could call to check on her after 3. Of course, it took forever for 3 to come. But, when I called, they said Zoey came through the surgery okay & was resting and we could pick her up in the morning. One hurdle down....

Then, we had to come home to an empty house. No Zoey to take out, no Zoey to wait for a treat, no Zoey to play ball with. Funny how quickly you become attached. The next morning, I cleaned up before going to pick her up (she hates the vacuum and it takes her all day to calm down). Jimmy had to haul cows to the stock market, so the kids went with me to get her. She was soooo happy to see us. We were soooo happy to have her home. We are taking it easy for a few days, but she is doing very well. She is sitting next to me in the recliner as I type this, just snoozing away. In a week, it will all be back to normal. And, it was for her own good.

I LOVE A BIRTHDAY!!!

Even if the birthday girl (or boy) is less than thrilled. But what I love more is getting to make a cool card for someone I love and one who loves to get cool cards. I made this card for one of my bestest friends, even though we don't get to see each other near enough. I hope she likes it.

All Products are Stampin' Up.
I used the Sending Love DSP out of the mini and put it on a real red base. It is called a Double Display Card and I found the template here. Her card is so cute --- check it out. It is a pretty easy card to make, but really packs a "WOW" factor. I used the Hostess Level 2 Wings of Friendship for the stamped image & the Well Scripted and Whimsical Words sets out of the mini and Sale-A-Bration catties, respectively, for the sentiments. This folds up to fit into a regular card envelope.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!!!

Happy First Day of Spring!!!!!!

Finally!!! I am so glad this winter is over. The first snow was pretty, but it all got pretty tiresome after awhile. And we didn't get it near as bad as our friends in Northern Virginia (Hey, Cindy B. & Debbie W.). But this weekend has restored my spirit and warmed my soul.

And Happy Birthday to Linda!!!! Today is my sister-in-law's birthday ---- but I will not tell you which one. I thought I would use one of the challenges that my Stampin' Up group (the Little Debbies) has started doing. Of course, this is not the current one, because I am always a step or two behind. But better late than never, I always say (of course I do, since I am always late). This was a sketch challenge posted last week & I just fell in love with it. Check out the link here. Here is my take on it:

I used the Sweet Pea DSP and the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt Pieces out of the Occasions Mini Catalog. The stamp set I used was Of the Earth, which is a Level 1 hostess set in the current "Big Book". The sentiment is from the Well Scripted set, also in the mini catalog (but I am really, really hoping it will make it into the next "Big Book").  It is all on a base of Pretty in Pink. Quite springy, don't cha think???

Thanks for looking & I hope everyone is having a great First Day of Spring!!!!

HERE WE GO............

Okay, I am going to cave in & try this blogging thing. Please be patient with me as I learn the in's & out's of the techno world. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I can guarantee there will not be daily posts, but hopefully I will post on a fairly regular basis.

For my first post, I thought I would start out with a card I made for my BIL's birthday in January. It was inspired by a friend (Hi, Cindy!!!) that had used the same set with a space ship. You can see her card here. I figured that the alien must have been going to visit friends on another planet. For those who know my family, you will see the resemblance of the characters to me, Jimmy (dh), Lindsey (dd) & Logan (ds). Thanks for visiting.
