A LITTLE INSTRUCTION......

I received a comment on my former post here, which is the card shown, asking for a few instuctions on how I did it. It was a CASE from here, but she didn't have any instructions either. So let me see if I can remember how I did it.

The black part of the penguin was punched out using the Owl Builder punch and then, although it sounds cruel, you cut off the feet and ears. The white part is also a piece from this punch, as are the feet that are punched out of Pumpkin Pie cardstock. When you do the feet, cut up into the body so that you can keep the feet together and have some material to put adhesive on to attach it onto the back of the body. The nose is just a free cut triangle, also out of Pumpkin Pie. The heart is the smallest heart from the Heart to Heart punch. The hat is stamped from the soon to be retired Party Hearty set and is cut out and popped up on a dimensional. A shiny rhinestone is added to the top for good measure. The balloons are circle punches with the owl feet added to the bottom to look like the end that you tie up. I used the Linen Thread for holding the balloons. You add a couple of googley eyes (the only thing I did not get from SU!) and you have a party penguin ready to shake his (or her) groove thing.

The sentiment is punched out with the retired Key Tag punch and mounted on top of the Decorative Label punch, with a couple of more rhinestones added to each side. The DSP used is the retired Sweet Always --- love that paper!!! A piece of ribbon is added to cover up the seam. I think that about covers it. If I have missed something, please do not hesitate to leave a comment.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!! Have a great day!!!!

A SAD THANK YOU......

This past school year, my DD went to middle school and rode a different bus from her brother. She absolutely loved her bus driver. And, in return, he spoiled her horribly (along with the rest of the bus). On the really hot days, he had bottled water for anyone who wanted it. He bought cupcakes for the whole bus on my DD's birthday. He had even promised to take her to Wendy's for an end-of-the-year treat. Due to unforseen circumstances, he was unable to do the Wendy's trip, but did give her a gift certificate. Well, with budget cuts and changing school times, a whole bunch of drivers lost their jobs for next year, with his being one of them. So, I wanted to make him a special card and placed a little gift in it. This uses the For Father retired set --- love it!!! It was colored with blender pens and a little texture added with the square lattice folder. To give it some interest, but not make it too girly (or, hopefully, not girly at all), I added the gold brads and a little hemp twine.

I really appreciate you stopping by. Have a wonderful day!!!!

HERE KITTY, KITTY, KITTY.........

I fell in love with this set at first sight. Nothing new, I know, when it comes to cutesy stamp sets and me, but I am so not a cat person. However, I just could not resist this kitty. I made this card for one of my stamping friends birthday --- hope it brought a smile. It was CASEd from here on Diana Gibbs blog. She is great at coloring. The DSP is from the SAB Ice Cream Parlor pack. It's all tied up with a Daffodil Delight bow. The kitty is such a Diva ---- see the rhinestone bling on her collar?

SYMPATHY CARD...........

I really hate having to make sympathy cards. Really. This one was for a friend who lost his wife to a very brave, very long battle against breast cancer. My prayers are with him and his family.

It was CASEd from Jill here. Thanks for stopping by!!!

PENGUIN BIRTHDAY...........

I just loved this card when I saw it here. I CASEd it to give to my great-niece for her birthday. I think the googly eyes make it. I also added some bling in the form of the rhinestones on the tip of the hat and on each side of the label. Fun card....

CASE OF A CASE.............

I did this CASE before I did this CASE. I really love the simple design of this card. It is so quick and easy, but is just a pretty card. On this one I used Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry and Early Espresso.

Thanks for looking!!! Have a great day!!!

ONE MORE EASEL.......

I was on a roll with these cards a while ago. This one was made for my good friend, Melletta, whom I don't get to see near enough. The grass was stamped with the Inspired by Nature set and then the little Beautiful Wings butterflies decided to take flight. I added Marina Mist ribbon and a few pearls to finish it off.

TEACHER'S GIFTS - PART 1......

Now that you have seen what I had planned on doing for the teachers, let's lookey at what they are getting. These little clipboards are quick and easy to dress up. I think I got them from SU!, but I do not think they carry them anymore. I covered them with the Ice Cream Parlor DSP and Quick Accents from SAB. The card was a CASE of a CASE that originated from here (with this being my first CASE of it). The notepads have the teacher's name at the top (I placed it in the clip to cover the names up) and were ordered online at Personalized Paper Store. I had them in my hands in three days and they look great. I added a rhinestone to the center of the flower to give it a little bling and ribbon to the clip for a little more interest.

This is one of them --- come back tomorrow to see the other one.

Have a great Sunday!!!!

THE "ALMOST" TEACHER'S GIFTS.....

I was honored to be asked to be the Demo of the month on Debbie Naylor's blog (Unfrogettable Stamping) for the month of April. One of the items I did for that was a hanging chalkboard/magnet board that I had planned on doing for end of the year gifts for my son's teachers. Alas, as so often happens, I decided to keep it for myself. I am soooo selfish!!!!

The Celebrations DSP was used to cover a piece of chipboard from SU!. I used the Teacher's Pet stamp set (getting ready to retire) for the elephant on one side and the pup on the other. The "note" and "detail" is from the Notes & Details set (pretty neat, huh?) that was in the Occasions Mini. The brad is the flower from the Designer Brads. I looped the Real Red ribbon through a couple of Jumbo Eyelets. The magnets for the magnetic side were stamped with the Every Little Bit set and covered with Crystal Effects. (Side note on that: The Crystal Effects made the red marker run a little bit.) The magnet and chalkboard are also from SU!.
This is the chalkboard side:

And this is the magnetic side with the magnets:

Take a look at the pictures Debbie took of it here --- they are so much better than my pictures.

Come back tomorrow and see what the teachers are going to get instead.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DEBBIE...........

This card was made for my upline, Debbie Naylor. She is not just the most awesome and talented person to have as an upline, but she is also a great friend. Check out her blog Unfrogettable Stamping.

This is the Lap of Luxury DSP --- I will miss this when it is retired --- and the cardstock colors are pulled from it. I added the satin Pretty in Pink ribbon and a couple of pearls to give it a little class. I really like how it turned out after I ran the DSP layer through the Big Shot with my Dots folder.

So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEBBIE!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!! Have a great day!!!
