HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY.............

To all of you mom's out there ---- HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! I hope you are all being pampered and showered with love today.
I have the cards that I made for my mom and mom-in-law to show you today. They were both CASEd and not much was changed from the originals. This first one is for my Mom-in-law and was on an email where Jill Hilliard was offering classes. I do not have a link to the card, but you can find Jill's blog here. Using the summer smooches DSP (love, love love it!!!) and Bright Blossoms stamp set, it was all layered on a whisper white base. I used a strip of crushed curry ribbon (retired) and accented the flowers with some rhinestones. The sentiment is from the Curvy Verses stamp set.

The inside, using the retired Something to Celebrate stamp set for the sentiment:

The one for my mom was CASEd from a Stampin' Addicts post by Deb Currier that was sent to my group from my upline, Debbie (her blog is here). You can find the orginal post on Deb's blog here. It is so simple, yet packs quite a punch. It, too, was layered on a whisper white base. The first layer is the white ran through the Big Shot with the Stripes embossing folder. Then, I just cut a circle of white and covered the bottom half with a piece of DSP from the Cheerful Treat pack (retiring this month). The sentiment is from Well Scripted (retired) and the butterfly was made with the Beautiful Wings embosslit die.

The inside of it, using the same sentiment as above:

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!!!!

ONE MORE EASEL.......

I was on a roll with these cards a while ago. This one was made for my good friend, Melletta, whom I don't get to see near enough. The grass was stamped with the Inspired by Nature set and then the little Beautiful Wings butterflies decided to take flight. I added Marina Mist ribbon and a few pearls to finish it off.

MAKING THE SWITCH........

The old adage goes "Measure twice, cut once". Weeellllll, it is a great bit of advice that I did not use this time. I was planning my card for our Little Debbie's monthly swap, which was to use something punched, Big Shot-ed or cut out. I wanted to use the Lap of Luxury DSP in the Big Shot to cut out the Top Note. As I figured it, I had just enough of the "Life is Beautiful" sheets left to make the number of cards I needed. I measured once and cut ---- wrong. But all was not lost. Here is the card I had planned and made the majority (that would be all but one) of:

And here is the odd card out that I did to correct my mistake. Same design, just flipped.

I like the looks of both of them. I also ran my Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die through the Big Shot to get the butterflies. I finished it off with a few of the pearls. To get the ribbon strip, I punched two strips with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch and mounted them side by side, running the ribbon on top to cover the seam. You cannot tell by my lousy pictures, but the colors are Pretty in Pink, Basic Gray, Concord Crush and Very Vanilla.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!!!

A SIMPLE THANK YOU...........

Today's card is a thank you card that I should have made and sent at Christmas. My ducks just will not get in a row. What to do? What to do? I had help with this one by using Cindy and Debbie's February sketch and color challenge. Check them out here on Cindy's blog. The colors are River Rock, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Night of Navy. Now just to let you know, River Rock is not a favorite of mine. But I think it worked great with this color combo. I used it as my base and added the oval layers of Rose Red and Night of Navy. I stamped the image from Just Believe in Night of Navy onto a Very Vanilla oval. I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit to cut out my Pretty in Pink butterfly. I sponged Night of Navy around the outside of the oval and the butterfly. So that covered all of the colors in the challenge. As for the sketch, I flipped it upside down. The sentiment is also from Just Believe and is stamped on a strip of Pretty in Pink. The ends are punched with the Eyelet Border punch to pretty it up a little. Since this is being mailed, I kept it very simple.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!!!!
