HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY.............

To all of you mom's out there ---- HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! I hope you are all being pampered and showered with love today.
I have the cards that I made for my mom and mom-in-law to show you today. They were both CASEd and not much was changed from the originals. This first one is for my Mom-in-law and was on an email where Jill Hilliard was offering classes. I do not have a link to the card, but you can find Jill's blog here. Using the summer smooches DSP (love, love love it!!!) and Bright Blossoms stamp set, it was all layered on a whisper white base. I used a strip of crushed curry ribbon (retired) and accented the flowers with some rhinestones. The sentiment is from the Curvy Verses stamp set.

The inside, using the retired Something to Celebrate stamp set for the sentiment:

The one for my mom was CASEd from a Stampin' Addicts post by Deb Currier that was sent to my group from my upline, Debbie (her blog is here). You can find the orginal post on Deb's blog here. It is so simple, yet packs quite a punch. It, too, was layered on a whisper white base. The first layer is the white ran through the Big Shot with the Stripes embossing folder. Then, I just cut a circle of white and covered the bottom half with a piece of DSP from the Cheerful Treat pack (retiring this month). The sentiment is from Well Scripted (retired) and the butterfly was made with the Beautiful Wings embosslit die.

The inside of it, using the same sentiment as above:

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!!!!

HAPPY I DO DAY......

It is rare that I get to make a card for a bride-to-be. This one is for a daughter of one of my hubby's cousins --- and she and her intended make the cutest couple. Now, to be honest, I hate shower games. Most are so lame. But the games done at her shower were so much fun. I guess that is because they were arranged by her friends and were new, hip games. I feel so old sometimes........

Anyway, I CASEd this from one done by my upline Debbie Naylor. You can check that one out here. (But don't stop at this card, her blog is full of awesome projects.) I did not have any of the DSP that she used for her dress, so I thought running it through the Big Shot would give it a nice texture. I kept to the basic black and white color scheme and added a little bling in the form of a rhinestone on the sentiment punch out and a rhinestone brad around the ribbon waistband on the dress. Clean and simple --- love it!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!! Have a great day!!!

BUTTERFLY, BUTTERFLY....

Wow, time has flew by. I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day holiday. I had this ready to post last week, but never actually clicked the "Publish Post" button. This was what I did for the May 21st weekend's Little Debbie challenges. I did the sketch & color challenge all in one card. The sketch challenge chosen can be found here. The color combo can be found here. I love these colors together. This could easily be used for a sympathy or thinking of you card, as well as a birthday card. The only ink used on this is a little of the Baja Breeze that was sponged onto the Whisper White oval. Everything else is punches & Big Shot dies. This was the first time I have used the butterfly die and, I have to say, I love it!!!! They are just so pretty with the embossed designs. You get that cool 3D look when you bend the wings up, it really makes the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!
