SPRING BREAK????

OMG!!!! Can you believe this weather??!!?? My prayers are with all that have been affected by this rash of thunderstorms and tornadoes. Unbelievable....

But on to sunnier thoughts.... My kids had their Spring break from school last week. Break???? Are you kidding me???? While they were off, the hubby and I took some time off, too. Time off???? Are you kidding me???? I had to go back to work to get some rest.......

No, this is not Lindsey and Logan. Our first destination was the Metro Richmond Zoo. This is a small zoo, but it had quite a lot of animals. Nice day trip for us. The main attraction for us was the Siamangs, the largest of the gibbons, that we heard more than saw when we first walked in. They had  loud "whoops" that could pretty much be heard all over the zoo. The wierd thing is that they blew up their necks to make this sound (which you can somewhat see in the picture). An interesting note on these animals is that the female is the group leader. Pretty cool, huh? Had a great day!!!

That was Thursday. On Friday, we went to see the movie Rio --- in 3-D, no less. It is a really cute movie. No, this birdie was not one of the film's stars, he (or she) was at the zoo. But I didn't have any pictures for the movie, so I think this works.......

Of course, what is Easter break without an Easter egg hunt or two. This is a picture Lindsey and Logan. They are hunting eggs at my mother's house. They also went to a hunt held at my sister-in-law's church. Love that egg hunting!!!!

The annual coloring of the eggs.......

And to top it all off, Logan finally got the hang of riding his bicycle. Oh, yeah!!!! So I took them to the school parking lot to practice.

Whew!!!  It makes me tired just to think about it all. I was able to stamp a little in between all of this fun, so check back in the next couple of days to see what I came up with.

Thanks for stopping by and have a Great Day!!!!!

NEW LOOK.....

So, whatcha think? I have played a little with the My Digital Studio (hey, I've only had it a year or so) and my blog header was my first project. I loved what others had done to theirs and really wanted to personalize mine. There was a great tutorial video on My Digital Studio, an on-line forum for using this awesome software, that made it easy (if not quick --- when do I ever make up my mind quickly?). In addition to the original CD content, I had earned the add-ons from Sale-A-Bration, which included the Ice Cream Parlor DSP and ribbon that I used. My only problem is I am not sure how to get my header to line up with the blog "box" below it. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Anyway, I also have a card to show you. This was made for a friend who has had some medical issues lately and I just wanted her to know I had her in my prayers. I CASE'd it from one my upline, Debbie Naylor, did at our shoe box swap before Christmas here. I used the Watercolor Trio stamp set (retired) and pulled my colors from the Jolly Holiday DSP (Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive). I colored the stamp with my markers to get this look. The sentiment is from the Because I Care hostess set.

Thanks for stopping by!!! Have a great day!!!

LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME.......

I'm Ernest T. --- who doesn't love Andy Griffith??? Okay, I am not Ernest T., but I am Demo of the Month over at Debbie Naylor's (my SU! upline and friend) blog, Unfroggettable Stamping. She split me into Part 1 and Part 2. I really had fun creating these projects and am honored to be spotlighted. I do apologize for the horrible picture of me --- I'm afraid it looks just like me. To give you a taste of what I submitted, here is my favorite card from the group:

I love this cute little hedgehog from Fun & Fast Notes. The "Hello" is from the Hello Again set. I will be using this color combo of Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla over and over again. Luv it!!!! I used the inlaid embossing technique for the first time for this and I really, really like the look it gives the card. I thought about coloring the little hoggie with the Early Espresso, but decided to keep it simple and just colored the butterfly using my Pretty in Pink ink pad and blender pen. Do you think I made the right decision?

Thanks to Debbie for showing me off. Thank you for stopping by.
Have a great day!!!!

SUPER SIMPLE........

I made this card for one of my friends (hey, Sherri!!!!). Although it is super simple, I think it is so visually striking. I cased it from Jill here. Check out her blog --- it is great. I used one of Sherri's favorite DSP's, which is now retired --- Berry Bliss. The base is Pretty in Pink. I added bling to the sentiment, cause a girl needs a little bling on her birthday.

What cha think? Glad you stopped by!!!!

A HORSE IS A HORSE, OF COURSE........

This is my second easel card. It was made for my daughter's friend, who happens to be the sister of my son's friend that the Lots of Bots card was made for yesterday. Their birthdays are one day apart.

She is a major horse lover, so I used the non-SU! set that I used for my sister's birthday card here. The cover:

THE EASY EASEL...........

I have wanted to try an easel card for a while now and finally took the plunge. Here is a link to the Splitcoast tutorial I used. This was made for one of my son's friends. I used the Lots of Bots stamp set and paired it with the Celebrations DSP. I love this stuff. I may need to hoard several packs before it is retired. The colors and patterns can be used for young and old alike. I will need at least one pack to use in my scrapbooking.

This is the card closed:

Here it is made into the "easel":

Pretty neat, huh? Once I made one, I had to make more. I will be posting them soon.

Thanks for stopping by!!!!
